Privacy

How this website handles contact, update requests and evidence submissions.

The site does not use political profiling, targeted advertising, advertising pixels, a donation system or automated political segmentation.

Effective date: 27 July 2026.

Controller: Max Brocklesby, founder of Honest Politics.

Contact: use the contact form and select Privacy or accessibility.

Information collected

The contact and evidence forms collect your name, email address, selected reason or submission type, relevant page where supplied, message, required acknowledgements and any separate request for occasional updates. Free text may reveal political opinions or other sensitive information. Please provide only what is necessary.

Purposes

Information is used to assess and respond to enquiries, evidence, corrections, expertise, volunteering interest, media contact, privacy or accessibility requests, and to protect the website from abuse. If you separately opt in to occasional updates, your email may also be used for that purpose. Evidence submissions are not reused for political marketing.

Lawful basis and sensitive information

Honest Politics processes a direct enquiry to take the steps you request and for the legitimate purpose of handling correspondence and protecting the service. Where you choose to provide political opinions or other special-category information, the forms request explicit consent for that limited processing. The optional updates request is a separate consent and can be withdrawn at any time.

Processing and storage

Forms are processed using Netlify Forms. Netlify and its approved infrastructure providers may process submissions on behalf of the controller. Access should be restricted to people who need it for the stated purpose.

Retention

General enquiries are reviewed for deletion when no longer needed, with a working target of twelve months. Evidence incorporated into a policy or correction record may be retained with that record. An occasional-updates request may be retained until it is withdrawn, together with the minimum suppression information needed to honour an unsubscribe.

Publication

Messages and evidence are not published or attributed by default. Honest Politics may ask for permission before identifying or quoting a contributor. Information about third parties may be redacted or removed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Use the contact form and select Privacy or accessibility.

Cookies and analytics

The package does not include non-essential analytics, advertising cookies, fingerprinting or session replay. Essential host and security technologies may operate. Any analytics added later must be assessed and described here before activation.

Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures should be used, including restricted access and strong account security. No online service can promise absolute security.

Children

The forms are not designed to collect information from children. Do not submit unnecessary information about a child.

Changes

Material changes update this page’s effective date and, where relevant, the public change record.
