Name, method, movement and education reconciliation

  • The meaning of Honest Politics is now stated centrally as honesty before party loyalty, image or convenience.
  • The net-benefit test is named and an initial promising-idea screen makes clear that not every suggestion can receive full analysis.
  • The movement is described as working towards becoming a party rather than using a label that overemphasised the founder.
  • Max Brocklesby’s present responsibility remains explicit, while future leadership is described as something to be earned and constitutionally transferable.
  • The site acknowledges that openness can be exploited and commits to honesty without naivety.
  • Policy areas remain alphabetical. The homepage remains ordered for public understanding, What Matters by current assessed long-term importance, and Open Questions by policy area.
  • The Education proposal now combines a primary 20-minute starting model, flexible secondary delivery, monthly practical labs and diagnostic termly checks, all subject to co-design and pilot evidence.
  • The transparency commitment now covers decisions, evidence, costings, reports, funding, changes and performance wherever lawful and responsible.

Reason

The changes more accurately reflect the movement’s purpose, avoid implying permanent personal leadership, preserve ambition while removing unevidenced implementation certainty, and make the public architecture easier to understand.

Audited platform reset

The previous website ceased to be the policy source of truth. Doctrine, methodology, current directions, governance, public communication and operational controls were separated and reconciled.

  • Cannabis remained illegal as the current direction while a full evidence review stayed open.
  • Where oil or gas remained necessary, responsible domestic production was preferred to avoidable imports, subject to full appraisal.
  • Existing green-belt designation received full protection, with transparent formal reassessment required before redesignation.
  • A numerical migration target remained unset pending route-by-route modelling.
  • Universal mandatory digital identity remained opposed as a default, while narrower systems remained appraisable.
